Kids swimming lessons
Our kids swimming lessons are divided into stages. They’ll move from basic skills, including buoyancy and balance, to more advanced techniques such as backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
With pool-based games, certificates and badges up for grabs, your children will stay engaged and entertained as they develop crucial skills and grow in confidence in the water.
Parent, baby and toddler swimming lessons
We offer swimming lessons for children from just 3 months old. With smaller groups and shorter lessons, our baby swimming lessons introduce your little one to the water slowly while ensuring each parent-and-child pairing has plenty of attention from an instructor.
Expect lots of games, songs and play to keep the mood lifted.

All membership packages include access to our indoor and outdoor pools. Adult and kids swimming lessons are available to book for an additional fee.
How can I book?
Members can book and manage kids swimming lessons via the David Lloyd Clubs app or in Club at reception.
When are lessons available?
Lessons run for 50 weeks each year, with a two-week break over the Christmas period.

We offer classes from 3 months to 16 years.
How long is a lesson?
Kids swimming lessons are usually 30 minutes each, with more advanced lessons lasting 45 minutes.
Once you've booked your child onto lessons, aim for your child to arrive poolside a few minutes before the start of the lesson, where the teacher will be ready to welcome them.
How is their progress measured?
Each stage of our programme has specific criteria that children will work towards meeting. Once they have completed the criteria for that stage, they will receive a badge and certificate and move up to the next stage of their swimming journey.
Social swimming
Swimming lessons and expert coaching are vital if your kids want to learn the basics. But when it comes to pure fun, our indoor and outdoor swimming pool facilities are unrivalled.
Many of our Clubs have small splash pools for kids to play around in. And our larger pools have dedicated family swim sessions, so you can make a splash together. Don’t worry, our fully trained lifeguards are on hand to keep an eye on the little ones.
